 | Mieko Aoki - Restoration Ecologist, Landscape DesignerMieko has bachelors degrees in both biology and landscape architecture as well as a Master's degree in landscape architecture with a specialization in landscape ecology. Her background includes work in wetland restoration, wildlife rehabilitation, horticulture and native plant propagation. In addition to native planting design and riparian restoration, Mieko is interested in landscape and building projects that are low maintenance, use recycled materials or otherwise have a low impact on natural resources. She has especially enjoyed working on vegetated roof projects and hopes to work on more in Eugene. She is a member of the Society for Ecological Restoration, the chair of the Native Gardening Awareness Program (NGAP--a committee of the Native Plant Society of Oregon), and enjoys volunteering with the Eugene Stream Team. |
