Staff

Mieko has a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in landscape architecture with a specialization in landscape ecology. Her background includes work in wetland restoration, wildlife rehabilitation, horticulture and native plant propagation. In addition to planting design and habitat restoration, Mieko is interested in landscape and building projects that are low maintenance, use recycled materials or have a low impact on natural resources. She is a member of the Society for Ecological Restoration, the chair of the Native Gardening Awareness Program (a committee of the local chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon), and is an active volunteer with the Eugene Stream Team and Willamette Resources and Educational Network (WREN).
