Jeff has a background in landscape architecture, integrated pest management (IPM) consulting, and thermal weed control technology. He received a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1988 with an emphasis on sustainable and nontoxic landscape design, planning and construction. After graduating, Jeff worked for IPM Associates, a consulting firm that assisted public agencies with IPM policy and program development in the Pacific Northwest region, including a comprehensive IPM policy and set of programs for both public and private lands in the city of Burnaby, British Columbia. He became a cofounder of Sunburst Thermal Weed Control Equipment in 1995 and continues to assist in the development of the technology and business. In 1997 Jeff Co-founded Garden Habitats, a landscape design business which developed into Habitats as it exists today. Jeff has a deep regard for the land and a strong stewardship ethic that focuses on responsible and practical ways in which humans can live in harmony with the larger environment.
