Aaron has been designing and building structures since he could swing a hammer. He formalized his interest with a Bachelors in Architecture in 1995 from the University of Oregon. From there he became interested in how to mitigate the impacts of homes on the landscape. He started a design/build firm with several other building designers, and began focusing on design and construction of aesthetically pleasing, low impact, passive solar homes. The firm, Western Environmental Design Integration Group LLC (WEDIG) explored the importance of integrating the adjacent landscape with the home, thus increasing a home's livable space. This prompted several efforts between WEDIG and what was then called Garden Habitats. Aaron moved on to become a principal with Garden Habitats, now Habitats, Inc. Aaron's interest in sustainability has led him to seek out recycled, low toxic and low energy input materials for use in his buildings. Through all his projects, Aaron is dedicated to developing lasting relationships between buildings, their landscapes, and the surrounding environment.
