Restoration

Walterville, Oregon Residence Stream Restoration

This project near a rural home was accomplished through a grant from the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB). Habitats provided the following services: grant writing and administration, planting and project design and implementation. Extensive invasions of non-native blackberry and yellow-flag iris were removed along 220 feet of stream and replaced with appropriate native riparian plant species. Silt fence was installed along the edges of the stream within the work area to decrease siltation and turbidity, and jute erosion control blankets were installed where invasive plant removal left areas of bare soil.
