Riparian Planting of Mohawk River Tributary

The landowners had recently removed an extensive thicket of Armenian Blackberry (Rubus armeniacus), revealing an unnamed perennial stream. The stream empties into the Mohawk River, which is a salmon-bearing river.

The stream was in need of additional planting to protect eroding banks and replace aging alders and cottonwoods. Horses needed to be removed from the area to protect young plants.

Habitats designed and installed a native riparian restoration planting that also provided strategic visual access to the stream for the landowners.
