The Bandon Center in the Park is the community center for the City of Bandon on the Oregon coast. It is to become a state-of-the-art "green" facility, applying Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards to the design, construction, landscape and operations of the center. Habitats produced a Landscape Vision Initial Summary Report for the City to guide the process. The center's unique location near the ocean, coastal nature preserves and state parks invites a strong connection to its surroundings. Site design included open pedestrian-oriented circulation, a systematic approach to reducing and cleaning stormwater runoff and use of native plants for wildlife habitat that also serves an educational purpose. The report was intended to be used to introduce the project to would-be funders for support.
