Vegetated RoofsVegetated Roofs (also known as Green Roofs and Eco-Roofs) serve a myriad of ecological functions including stormwater filtration and detention that reduces impacts to city stormwater systems; providing insect and bird habitat; and reducing heat island effects. There is no single correct way to design a vegetated roof, from the construction details and components to the soil mix and plant choices. Every site is unique, and therefore so is each of Habitats’ vegetated roofs. |
