Tiara Neighborhood Home

Located in the Tiara Community near 28th and Adams Streets in Eugene, this new 2,800 s.f. home incorporates a range of sustainable design features including: passive solar design for heating and cooling; a solar water heating system and infrastructure for future photovoltaic panels; non-toxic materials and adhesives to maintain a healthy indoor environment, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified structural beams and decking, super insulated off-set stud framing in the North and East walls; and sustainably harvested local wood products in the finishes.

In addition to the features above, the home also retains 100% of all storm water onsite through an integrated water filtration, retention and irrigation system. This system includes a living (vegetated) roof, cistern, gravity fed irrigation system, bioswales, storm surge pond and a drywell. The City of Eugene has indicated that this home has the city's first permitted residential living roof.
