Combs ResidenceThe Combs residence is a new 2-story, 2092 square-foot home overlooking the North Umpqua River in Roseburg, Oregon. The design tucks the building into a steep hillside giving the feeling of a cliff dwelling with a spectacular view to the Umpqua River valley below. Features of the home include a tromb wall on the southwest corner and an occupiable living roof surface. Daylighting and passive cooling are accomplished through temperature actuated clerestory windows which draw cool air up from the daylight basement.       select a thumbnail to view |
