Eugene-Springfield Metro Area Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Eugene-Springfield Wastewater Treatment Plant entry design displays a variety of ecological design techniques. The primary objective of the design is to strike a balance between creating an attractive ornamental landscape and demonstrating principles of ecological sustainability. Methods used in the design decrease storm water run-off, increase habitat value, and provide increased opportunities to enjoy and learn from plant, animal and soil life. The educational component of the Wastewater Treatment Plant entry encourages similar practices in residential, commercial and public landscapes.
